#ConLaCultura – ‘SWAB’, Contemporary Art Festival in Barcelona; ‘International Biennial of Landscape Architecture’ at the COAC; new cycle of exhibitions in the Joan Miró Foundation’s Espai 13; and ‘Contemporary Art Week in Asturias’

‘SWAB’ brings together 300 artists from 60 galleries from all over the world

From 27 to 30 September, the eleventh edition of the SWAB Barcelona Art Fair, one of the biggest independent art festivals in the world, will be held in Barcelona. This year, 300 artists from 60 galleries from all over the world will come together at the festival. During the festival, and for another consecutive year, the Banco Sabadell Foundation Award will be given out to the best gallery. Full details of what you will be able to see during the festival are available on the official website of SWAB.

‘International Biennial of Landscape Architecture’

From 26 to 29 September, the tenth edition of the International Biennial of Landscape Architecture will be held in Barcelona by the Catalonia School of Architects (Colegio de Arquitectos de Cataluña, or COAC). This event aims to debate and closely examine landscape intervention, from the point of view of both architecture and other disciplines involved in its research and development. As part of the Biennial, the Rosa Barba Prize will be given to the best landscaping project or plan created over the last 5 years.

New cycle of exhibitions at Espai 13 with ‘A Monster who Tells the Truth’

The artist Fito Conesa will be opening the new cycle of exhibitions in the Joan Miró Foundation’s Espai 13 called ‘A monster who tells the truth’, during which five exhibitions will be held until September 2019 in order to display the work of emerging artists. The first exhibition, ‘Our own path remains’, will be held until November 4th. Here, Fito Conesa takes as his starting point Arvo Pärt’s life and work, as well as crisis as a form of knowledge, and presents a musical piece of his own. The artist has built an acoustic shell, a cave for a sensory experience that blurs the boundaries between artistic disciplines.

‘Contemporary Art Week in Asturias’

Between October 4th and 11th, Asturias will host the ‘XVII Contemporary Art Week’ with different propositions to bring art to the city, with exhibitions, workshops, seminars and one-day learning sessions for children and adolescents.
