#ConLaCultura – ‘Soy vertical’ at Espai 13; ‘Annete Messager’ and ‘The abstraction eclosion’ at the IVAM; ‘Viñetas de Revista Occidente’ at the Museo Bellas Artes in Asturias

‘Soy vertical’ (‘I am vertical’), a new art intervention at Espai 13

This exhibition organised by the Joan Miró Foundation will be open until September 11th, and forms part of the La posibilidad de una isla cycle (‘The possibility of an island’), by Lisa Gideonsson and Gustaf Londré, two Swedish visual artists who have been working as an artistic duo since 2009 and who often engage with aspects such as temporality, the body and the environment, exploring the relationships established between these elements through performance, video, installation and text.

Art by Annete Messager and ‘The abstraction eclosion’ at the IVAM

Until November 4th, you will be able to visit the exhibition ‘Annette Messager. Púdico – Público’, organised by the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM), in which the artist uses every-day objects traditionally seen as having very little value and puts them to different uses to change the feelings that they evoke, creating montages, installations and photographs in which items traditionally associated with women, such as wool, cloth, ribbons and stuffed animals are combined with very different items. And until October 21st, you will be able to visit ‘La eclosión de la abstracción’ (‘The abstraction eclosion’), an exhibition that analyses abstract artistic practices developed from the post-war years to the present day, ranging from sublime practices to more ideological proposals, shifting their focus from the object to the concept, in an attempt to uncover their meanings and contradictions, whilst examining their techniques and procedures.

‘Trazos de la palabra: viñetas de Revista de Occidente’

Until October 28th you will be able to visit this exhibition, which displays original drawings and works by renowned artists that were used to illustrate some of the covers of the Revista de Occidente magazine. The works on display at the Museo de Bellas Artes de Asturias (Asturias Fine Arts Museum) have been divided into four sections corresponding to each of the four key periods of the magazines.
