Barcelona’s week of design kicks off with FADfest

From 27 June to 2 July, Barcelona will be holding FADfest, the Art and Design Festival which showcases the best of architecture, interior design, graphic design, publicity, industrial design, art and fashion. It will be a week filled with different events and activities, such as conferences, exhibitions, workshops, seminars and awards, to name a few.

For another consecutive year, the Foundation will be a collaborating partner of the Barcelona week of design, highlighting and showcasing young people’s talent through acknowledgements such as the Habitácola Awards, promoted by Arquinfad, aimed at students in order to spread awareness of the importance of being creative, getting involved in society and being professional, by supporting new initiatives and ideas. The XXIX Habitácola Awards invite us to rethink the space offered by schoolyards by linking them directly to the process of discovery and learning, providing experiences that further strengthen what children learn in class.

The awards will be given out this Thursday 29th June from 20hrs at the FAD headquarters, in the Disenny Hub Barcelona.

Another prize that we support is the Laus Aporta-Banco Sabadell Foundation award, which aims to make the contribution of design to society more visible through projects that have successfully used visual communication channels to have a positive social and economic impact. The contributions of these projects can be extremely diverse, ranging from giving voice to social phenomena, introducing design into a new sector and contributing to a cultural change, helping to transform a traditional product into a value-added product. The award ceremony will take place on Friday 30th May in Nit Laus.
