Exhibitions, urban interventions, workshops, photography marathons…PHOTOALICANTE kicks off!

Until April 2nd you can visit and get to know the V edition of PHOTOALICANTE, the international contemporary photography festival which hosts 16 exhibitions, shows, urban interventions, photography marathons, activities, conferences and workshops…

The slogan for this exhibition is ‘Ritual de lo habitual’ which reflects on the space for ritual conceived by the technology of photographic cameras and the usual description of the model which is describes or perceives. This transition implies that photography does not belong to a single status or territory, yet that it belongs to the arts or the information of a cultural territory.

New in this year’s exhibition is the ‘BEPHOTO’ International Contemporary Photography Congress, which will take place at the Centro Cultural Las Cigarreras from 15-18 March.

One of exhibitions which stands out at PHOTOALICANTE is Alegorías de lo cotidiano, a selection of works by great artists such as Chema Madoz, Joan Fontcuberta, Mayte Vieta, Bleda and Rosa or Eulalia Valldosera, amongst others. You can visit the exhibition at Centro Cultural Las Cigarreras.

The selection of works which forms this exhibition creates a friendly and close environment in which the spectator participates in different spaces, stories and situations proposed by the creators. A journey through the works of renowned artists which range from objectual to conceptual, where a poetic imaginarium is created in which photographic images create a distancing and a dissolution of daily spaces and objectives.
