This year we are going hiking in support of social inclusion with Transpirenaica Social Solidaria

More than 300 young people and 200 volunteers will take part in this year’s edition of Transpirenaica Social Solidaria (TSS). It is an 800km hike over the Pyrenees in favour of social inclusion that takes place over 42 days, from 14 June to 27 July, from Cabo de Higuer (Basque Country) to Cabo de Creus (Catalonia).

This is a mountain challenge that aims to transform society. We are a collaborating partner of this event, which aims to offer an opportunity to young people, who do the trek over the Pyrenees accompanied by corporate and business volunteers with diverse profiles and from a number of different sectors. This is a project in which the mountain becomes the backdrop for the creation of synergies through chats, forums… It is an experience in which young people, educators, professionals and firms can open their eyes to different realities and develop values like companionship, self-improvement, effort, teamwork and leadership.

With sport and these values we create synergies between all participants, favouring social cohesion between everyone, accompanying young people in their search for employment, young people who in the majority of cases are in vulnerable situations”, explained Irene Zendrera, director of TSS, during the presentation of the Travesía Transpirenaica Social Solidaria 2018, which took place on 1st February at the old Damm factory in Barcelona.
