Cultural schedule for the weekend of 17th March: poetry, debates, art and photography

This weekend, we recommend that you visit the first UtopiaMarkets Poesía (Utopia Markets Poetry) which is being held at Utopia 126, a modernist factory which has been converted into a unique space in the Poblenou neighbourhood in Barcelona. The list of participants includes poets, visual poets, publishing companies and assembled magazines, who will be presenting and selling their works in the different stalls.

Also in Barcelona, there are two very interesting cultural proposals. You can get to know more about photobooks at ‘Fenómeno Fotolibros’ (Photobook Phenomenon) at Foto Colectania; and at the Joan Miró Foundation you can visit the “Autogestión” exhibition, which reflects on contemporary art and the concept of DIY (do it yourself).

Another cultural proposal for this weekend is in Segovia, specifically, the VII encounter of ‘Mujeres que transforman el mundo’ (VII Encounter ‘Women Transforming the World’) which will be held at the former prison in Segovia, a space which is transformed into the centre stage for debate on the role of women.

For cinema fans, you can visit the 30 Semana de Cine (30 Week of Cinema) at Medina del Campo which is being held until Saturday.

In Alicante, you can visit the IV edition of the Festival Internacional de Fotografia Contemporánea (International Fair of Contemporary Photography) PHOTOALICANTE. This fair includes 17 exhibitions, 11 urban interventions, 6 workshops, 4 conferences, and up to 13 activities. The fair is open until 2nd April.
