La Kompanyia Lliure brings you ‘Moby Dick, un viaje por el teatro’ (‘Moby Dick, a journey through theatre’)

All eight performers of La Kompanyia Lliure will take the stage at the Teatre Lliure in Montjuïc to perform ‘Moby Dick, a journey through theatre’, a play recommended for children between the ages of 6 and 12.

This is a play that will take you on a tour through the theatre in search of the fictional white whale imagined by North American writer Herman Melville. The audience will be able to act and navigate together with the actors performing the main characters of Melville’s novel. The Teatre Lliure will be transformed into a boat where everyone, sailors and actors, will learn how to work together like a team.

More about La Kompanyia Lliure

The project, which has started the 2013/14 season, will serve as training over the next three years for its eight new members: Joan Amargós, Quim Àvila, Clàudia Benito, Raquel Ferri, Eduardo Lloveras, Andrea Ros, Joan Solé and Júlia Truyol.

These young actors, aged between 20 and 30, were selected in March by a jury of four actresses and four actors, aged between 20 and 30, from almost 400 hopefuls after three intensive weeks of work and a final audition. They were selected in March 2016 by a panel of professionals linked to the world of theatre. The Banco Sabadell Foundation collaborates and supports La Kompanyia Lliure with a view to offering opportunities to young, talented people and promote culture, in this case, through theatre.
