Schedule for the weekend of 20 April: cultural proposals

-‘ArtsLibris’ International Artists’ Books and Contemporary Edition brings together more than 90 international exhibitors with the objective of sharing and commercialising the editorial artists and photobook sector. From today, until Monday 23rd April, different meetings and activities are being held at the Santa Mònica de Barcelona Arts centre.

– ‘Experiencia del coleccionismo familiar. La Modernidad en el Sur‘, from the Boti Llanes collection, which allows us to appreciate the different visions of artists whose works reveal how new their contributions were, as well as the validity and relevance which many of their ideas still conserve. Después del fin del mundo’ at the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona (CCCB) is hosting eight immersive installations by contemporary creators to reflect on the present and the future of the climate change crisis.

-‘La eclosión de la abstracción’ brings together almost 150 works from the Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno Collection, with the objective of analysing the abstract artistic practices developed from the post-war era up until today. This exhibition can be visited until 16 September.

-‘Paco Gómez’s Archive. El instante poético y la imagen arquitectónica’, brings together more than 150 images and other materials, such as magazines and publications. Francisco Gómez is considered to be one of the most singular photographers amongst the group of authors which rejuvenated Spanish photography during the mid-20th century. You can visit this exhibition until 17 June at Foto Colectania headquarters, Barcelona.

-‘Beehave’, an exhibition which reflects on the role of bees through installations and works by contemporary artists. This exhibition can be visited at Fundació Joan Miró.
