Seventy illustrators take part in the first UtopiaMarkets focusing on Illustration

The first ever UtopiaMarkets of Illustration will take place from 20th to 22nd October, with the involvement of over 70 illustrators who will sell their work directly to the public. The aim of this event, which we are promoting together with Utopía126, is to support the talent and creativity of this group and raise public awareness of the art of illustration. For this reason, during these three days, in addition to the market, a number of different activities will take place, including screenings, conferences, live painting of murals, installations, portraits and children’s workshops.

For example, ‘María y yo’ (Maria and I) will be screened; this is a documentary by Félix Fernández de Castro based on the comic book by María and Miguel Gallardo. A conference will be held by graphic designer and illustrator Susana Blasco, where she will talk about creative processes and the differences between art and design. Activities for the kids are also being organised, with workshops to teach them fun techniques to create their own masterpieces.

Some of the illustrators taking part are Miguel Gallardo, Javier Mariscal, Mariona Omedes, Clàudia Vives-Fierro, Karin du Croo, Flavita Banana, Javirroyo, Dalmau Oliveras, Janet Stein, Amaya Uscola, Meritxell Durán and Ken Umehara.
