Scheduled events for weekend of 23 September: 5 cultural events

This weekend, Segovia will become the epicentre of culture with the eleventh edition of Hay Festival 2016. This year, the programme offers you 96 cultural events: workshops, conferences, debates, interviews, exhibitions, and many more.

Another recommended event during these days is taking place in Barcelona, with the ART<35 Banco Sabadell/2016, showing work by 10 emerging artists under the age of 35, and which you can visit in the Sala Parés; and the Barcelona Centre of Contemporary Culture offers you a chance to visit ‘Ramon Llull. The thinking machine’ which explores the impact of this philosopher on the arts, literature, science and technology.

In Palafrugell (Girona), you can visit and take part in the various activities organised by the IX edition of the Xavier Miserachs Biennial of Photography. 14 exhibitions located in different spaces. This weekend, you can attend the conference ‘Organisation and maintenance of family files’ with Susanna Muriel, a specialist in photography collections (Saturday 24th at 19:30 in the Suro Museum), or go to the presentation of the book ‘Josep Pla i la civilització surera’ by Annie Unland (Friday 23rd, 19:00 at the Josep Pla Foundation).

Finally, in Xixona (Alicante), why not visit ‘Stone Guardians. Castles of Alicante’, a moving exhibition by MARQ which you can visit until 30 October. This exhibition invites you to journey through the province of Alicante in search of the stone guardians, looking for the region’s most impressive monuments.
