FUNDACIÓ DEL GRAN TEATRE DEL LICEU - Proyecto Òh!pera

¡ÓH! PERA. Microóperas de nueva creación (newly created micro-operas) is an initiative that promotes art, music and creative talent. It is an innovative proposal based on cross-cutting work by young people from various creative disciplines that meet to share skills and to allow them to learn, in a real-life environment, how to create a new small-format opera (micro-opera) and offer them a real experience of new operatic creation. Composers, stage managers, students of design schools, lyricists, instrumentalists, singers, etc. meet to put on stage three micro-operas around 20 minutes long with new topics and new visual proposals in an experimental venue that the Liceo opens to the new creators of the future for them to take risks, create, triumph and collaborate.

Opera project Òh!Pera. Microóperas de nueva creación

“This programme creates operatic proposals on a smaller scale and offers an opportunity for team-building between people who, very often, have never been involved in this genre of work before. You have to coordinate all of the artistic visions, not just your own, and create a sense of unity. So you need to listen to others, not just be creative, and you need to be very adaptable. Taking part in this programme has had a huge impact on my professional life, especially because I was able to meet so many talented people from so many different fields, many of whom I still work with today. It was also a huge pleasure and I consider myself lucky to have been able to work with an institution like the Liceo. Pol Roig, set designer and stage director for the micro-opera Eliza, at Òh!Pera 2024
