Four social entities recognised in the ninth edition of B-Value, the social transformation programme

Fundació Privada Aspros, Fundació Acollida i Esperança, Fundación Raíces and Asociación Family Up have been awarded cash prizes and pro bono services from the programme’s partners.

BValue aims to empower the social leaders of the future by combining training, mentorship and strategic support through a network of more than 170 partners specialised in the impact ecosystem.

Over several months, participating organisations worked on essential areas such as business model, leadership, impact measurement, the use of technology for social impact, financial management and communications, in order to strengthen and scale their projects.

The ninth edition of B-Value, the social transformation programme promoted by the Banco Sabadell Foundation and Ship2B Foundation, with the support of the Juan Entrecanales de Azcárate Foundation, concluded with an awards ceremony during Demo Day, where four finalists were honoured.

In this ninth edition, the panel of judges recognised four initiatives for their robustness, impact-driven approach and scalability potential. Fundació Privada Aspros was awarded €25,000 furnished by Sabadell Seguros and Fundación ONCE, along with strategic consultancy services from PwC for its project Circular Transformation: Inclusion and Sustainability. This initiative combines inclusive employment opportunities with sustainable waste management through logistics optimisation, regulatory compliance and digital traceability. It currently manages 200 tonnes of confidential documentation annually and anticipates diversified growth that will create new jobs.

Fundació Acollida i Esperança received a €30,000 prize from the Banco Sabadell Foundation and the Juan Entrecanales de Azcárate Foundation, along with a communications campaign from After and leadership and HR consultancy services from Salto con Red, for its project Dientes Justos (Fair Teeth). This is an oral health initiative that promotes access to dental treatment for people at risk of social exclusion. Through an innovative model, the proposal seeks to drive structural change in the system by operating a social clinic that provides immediate basic dental care and by creating a network of caring dental professionals to reinforce the universal right to oral health.

Fundación Raíces was awarded €35,000, furnished by the Juan Entrecanales de Azcárate Foundation and the Joaquim Molins Figueras Foundation, as well as business networking consultancy services from the Hazloposible Foundation, for its project Empleo Conciencia (Conscious Employment), a social and labour integration model for young people aged 16 to 25 (both Spanish and foreign nationals without family support ) that reverses the traditional logic of viewing employment as a tool for improving employability (“learn by doing”), enhanced with mentorship sessions and business partnerships to prevent social exclusion.

Finally, Asociación Family Up received €15,000, a specific award introduced in this year’s edition to support entities working to rebuild areas affected by DANA back in October 2024. The prize is funded by the Banco Sabadell Foundation and recognises Hasta el infinito y más allá (To Infinity and Beyond), a charitable support programme for people over 70 impacted by the storm, which provides emotional support and assistance for rebuilding their homes, while acknowledging their contribution to society and helping to prevent unwanted loneliness.

The Demo Day, held at Banco Sabadell’s corporate centre in Sant Cugat del Vallès, brought together key representatives from the third sector and philanthropy, as well as leaders from the academic, business and social innovation sectors. The event opened with the welcome speech from the programme sponsors. Guillermo Ricarte, General Manager of Ship2B Foundation, pointed out: “The goal of B-Value is to support non-profit social entities in the areas of strategy, innovation, business model and leadership”. While Sonia Mulero, General Manager at the Banco Sabadell Foundation, added: “B-Value is the space where social entities increase their impact and professionalise their proposals. Each edition reaffirms the talent and innovation capacity of the social sector; our commitment is to accelerate that maturity and recognise their leadership”. Finally, Cristina San Salvador, Director of the Juan Entrecanales de Azcárate Foundation, noted: “Convinced of the power of philanthropy to strengthen and grow organisations when it combines strategic and flexible funding with technical assistance, we consider B-Value to be key in the earliest stages”.

The event also highlighted the role of more than 170 first-tier mentors and trainers from the business and impact investment sectors, who voluntarily participate in the programme. This include 40 professional mentors from Banco Sabadell and 10 from Sabadell Seguros, who take part voluntarily, helping organisations to strengthen their value propositions.

Commitment to empower the social leaders of the future

Since its launch in 2017, the B-Value social transformation programme has supported hundreds of social entities on their journey toward more innovative and economically self-sustainable models. Thanks to a holistic approach that combines training, mentoring and strategic support, the programme has achieved a significant impact on the third sector. A study conducted by the sponsors shows that 80% of the finalist projects are still active today. Furthermore, one year after participating, the projects accelerated by B-Value have multiplied, on average, their revenues by 3 times and the number of beneficiaries served by 4.

Across its nine editions, B-Value has consolidated itself as a benchmark for innovation and professionalisation in the third sector, fostering leadership and sustainability among social organisations. Overall, 364 entities have participated in the programme, advancing toward more strategic management and credible impact. Among them, 93 finalists have received awards worth more than €1.2 million, combining financial support and pro bono services, to strengthen their capacity for growth and transformation.

This edition’s finalists include the following entities that are driving innovation projects with a high social impact: Agrupación de sociedades de trabajo asociado y economía social (ASATA), Euexia Rural, Fundació Hospital Sant Jaume i Santa Magdalena, Fundació Iluro, Fundació Orfeó Català – Palau de la Música and Fundació Privada Mona
