‘Crescendo. We create Opera’ begins its third edition and brings together twenty talented young people who will form part of the programme.

This March sees the launch of the third edition of the programme, an initiative run by the Fundación Amigos del Teatro Real and promoted with our collaboration, which offers training and professional opportunities to promising young people in the field of operatic creation, as part of a commitment to promote a diverse and inclusive artistic ecosystem.

Begoña Gómez, Carmen Lázaro, David Barrera, Diana Rojas, Elena Zamundio, Emilia Pérez, Gabriel Mas, Gonzalo Ruiz, Pepe Hannan, María Martín, Raquel Del Pino, Roman Bordón, Silvia Naranjo and Susana García form part of the new generation of ‘Crescendo’ talent, and they add their names to the roster of 40 promising young people who have participated in previous editions of the programme.

During March and April, they will take part in an exclusive training programme with workshops in performance, song, voice coaching and personal branding – just a few of the many surprises on offer. They will also be able to learn all about the Teatro Real and its secrets, direct from the professionals who work there, and will have access to new employment opportunities.

Javiera Andrea Saavedra, who took part in the second edition of the programme explains that “for me, taking part in the Crescendo programme represented a tremendous opportunity for artistic growth”. In terms of the training, Jessica Bogado points out that she was able to learn “not just from the teachers we had, but above all from my fellow students, I learnt so much from our group of twenty people because each one of us had something to teach the others”.

‘Crescendo. We create Opera’ has established itself as a national and international initiative for the long term. Soprano, Emilia Pérez, who participated in the second edition, exemplifies this. She recently won the last two editions of the Mirna Lacambra competition and has made her debut in the roles of Berta and Donna Anna with the Escola d’Ópera de Sabadell, both being initiatives in which the Foundation has also collaborated.

We believe in talent, based on effort and equal opportunities, and we believe in the power of culture as a tool to generate value, progress and social transformation. Because of this, we support entities that share our vision, such as the Fundación Amigos del Teatro Real, whose commitment is embodied not only in initiatives such as ‘Crescendo. Creamos Ópera’, but also in the Ciclo Jóvenes Talentos – Fundación Banco Sabadell, an artistic project intended to offer training and professional opportunities to young students from the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia through a cycle of four concerts to take place until June of this year.

At the Banco Sabadell Foundation, we will follow the progress of this new generation of talented young people who are sure to make their mark on today’s operatic scene.
