Schubertíada de Vilabertran celebrates its 25th anniversary

From August 17 to September 3, the monastery of Santa María de Vilabertran is hosting the 25th edition of one of the most important lied festivals in Spain, the Schubertíada de Vilabertran, a festival which pays tribute to Franz Schubert and which has consolidated itself as an event which offers young talented persons lots of opportunities to showcase their talent. Over these 25 years, 227 concerts have been held, with 194 solo performances and 39 joint performances.

In this year’s edition, talented young people and artists, such as the German baritone Matthias Goerne; la mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly, tenor Christoph Prégardien, soprano Kate Royal, violist Isabel Villanueva accompanied by François Dumont, Quartet Casals, Camerata 432 and pianists Javier Perianes, Nicholas Angelich and Mario Mora, amongst others, will all be participating.
