The Foundation has awarded two External Rotation grants for working in hospitals abroad

The Foundation, in collaboration with the Colegio de Médicos de las Islas Balearas (Balearic Islands Medical Association), has awarded two External Rotation grants two work in hospitals abroad in order to allow medical students to gain experience, for at least one month, in foreign hospitals during the last year of their residency or upon completion of their residency.

Pedro Ballester Garau, Regional Manager of Banco Sabadell in the Balearic Islands, hands out the award to Dr Moreno on Friday 17 June.

One of these grants has been awarded to Dr Julia Moreno Sánchez, a resident doctor in her fourth year studying Intensive Care at the Hospital Universitari Son Espases, and she will spend three months at the Recanati/Miller Transplantation Institute, Liver Transplant Service, of Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, USA.

The second grant has been awarded to Dr Marta Amengual Gual, a resident doctor in her third year at the Paediatrics Teaching Unit at the Hospital Universitari Son Espases, who will spend three months at the Boston Children’s Hospital, Boston, USA, in the neuropaediatrics unit, with a focusing specifically on epilepsy in children.
