Schedule for the weekend of 28th July: cultural recommendations

This weekend we have six cultural recommendations for you with music, art and exhibitions.

-From today until Sunday, the Fringe Festival in Torroella de Montgrí will be hosting 27 concerts from a hundred talented young musicians who have been selected from the best colleges and conservatories of music in Europe and the United States, with a variety of music styles such as classical music, jazz, pop, soul and flamenco.

-Tomorrow (Saturday), the Del Vallés Symphonic Orchestra (OSV) will be performing at the Torroella de Montgrí Festival, together with pianist Joaquín Achúcarro.

-In Alicante, the ‘Geografía’ festival continues at the Auditorio de la Diputación de Alicante (ADDA) this Friday, with a performance by the Jove Orquestra de la Generalitat Valenciana and tomorrow, Saturday, with a flamenco performance by Marina Heredia and Dorantes.

-In Valencia, you can visit the recently opened exhibition ‘The abstraction eclosion’ at the Valencia Institute of Modern Art (IVAM), which brings together close to 150 works of art from the Collection. The exhibition aims to analyse abstract art practices developed from the post-war period to the present day.

-And in Barcelona, we have a further two exhibitions to recommend: ‘Fruit Belt’, by artist Martin Llavaneras in Espai 13 at the Joan Miró Foundation, which invites you on an incursion into the lines that divide humankind from its environment, and the exhibition ‘Weegee by Weegee’, which brings together over 100 photographs by the New York chronicler of the 1930s and 1940s, which you can visit at the Foto Colectania Foundation.
