String a chord with talent in Barcelona, last round of the Maria Canals competition

Banco Sabadell Foundation collaborates with this competition as it aims to continue promoting culture and bring it closer to society. This competition is particularly noteworthy thanks to the activities running parallel to it, the most popular activity being ‘Tu hi toques?[Do You Play?] in which over 80 grand pianos are brought out onto the streets of Barcelona, and distributed across the city centre. The objective: to strike a chord with the public, bringing them together through the sounds of music.

The competition, which is held in March, is aimed at young musicians aged between 18 and 30. The competition is divided into 4 rounds which are held at the Palau de la Música Catalana, in Barcelona. The final includes playing in an orchestra, at which stage only the top three contestants are able to participate.
